Confirm the system
Use the waterproofing-material supplier's instructions. Confirm the substrate, primer, membrane or mortar chemistry, coat thickness and curing conditions.
This is a qualification and communication guide, not a substitute for the waterproofing-system manufacturer's instructions or project specification.
The band is non-self-adhesive. Its textile edge must be integrated using a compatible waterproofing material or setting system.
Exact overlaps, film thickness, tools and cure times remain controlled by the complete waterproofing system and project requirements.
Use the waterproofing-material supplier's instructions. Confirm the substrate, primer, membrane or mortar chemistry, coat thickness and curing conditions.
The substrate should meet the selected system's requirements. Resolve dust, contamination, sharp edges, voids and unsupported movement before band placement.
Place the compatible waterproofing material along the joint at the width and thickness required by the system owner.
Position the band and work the textile edges into the fresh coat without folds, trapped air or an unintended bridge across the detail.
Follow the system-defined overlap. Use matched preformed inside/outside corners where the geometry benefits from a pre-shaped detail.
Apply the remaining system layers as specified. Respect cure time and perform the project-required inspection or assembly test before covering.
Compatibility with one liquid membrane, mortar or adhesive does not prove compatibility with all chemistries. Request an exact-system sample and evidence review.
That single document makes the first supplier review far more useful.
